What is a virtual financial advisor?

Virtual financial advice means working with an advisor through phone or video meetings rather than relying on office visits. We can discuss your priorities, review your financial picture and explore how your decisions fit together while meeting remotely.

Virtual describes how we meet. The services, responsibilities and costs of a relationship depend on the engagement we agree on. We discuss those details before you decide to proceed.

Who might prefer virtual meetings?

  • People nearing retirement who want to connect savings, income and Social Security decisions.
  • Busy individuals and couples who would rather spend time on their financial questions than a commute.
  • Business owners and executives balancing financial planning with a demanding schedule.
  • Clients whose schedules or locations change and who value the option to meet by phone or video.

Based in Northwest Indiana, I offer remote meetings subject to applicable registration, licensing and service availability. Tell me where you live when requesting a conversation so we can confirm whether I can assist you.

How getting started works

1. Request a conversation

Use the website form or call (219) 400-0485. Let me know you prefer a phone or video meeting and the main question you would like to discuss. I respond to requests within one business day.

2. Meet for a free discovery conversation

The first meeting typically lasts 30–60 minutes. We get to know you, your goals and what matters most, and begin understanding your current financial picture. No recommendations are made during this first conversation.

3. Agree on the next steps

If we decide to explore working together, we discuss the appropriate services, scope, fees and information needed. I explain the next steps and how to share any requested documents through an appropriate channel.

4. Build a relationship around your plan

For an ongoing engagement, we agree on how we will communicate and review your progress. Changes in your work, family, goals or finances can become part of those conversations, with coordination with your tax and legal professionals where appropriate.

What can we discuss virtually?

  • Retirement planning: your timeline, spending priorities and sources of retirement income.
  • Investment management: how your investments relate to your goals, time horizon and comfort with risk.
  • Social Security and withdrawal decisions: the tradeoffs among benefit timing and account distributions.
  • Roth conversion considerations: how a potential conversion fits your broader retirement picture, in coordination with your tax professional.
  • Family and business priorities: cash flow, education funding, legacy goals and preparing for transitions.

Explore services for individuals and families or services for businesses and business owners.

Preparing for your first virtual meeting

Start with your questions and a general picture of your situation. Think about what prompted you to reach out, the decisions ahead and what you would like financial planning to help you understand.

For video, choose a quiet, private place and a device with a working camera, microphone and internet connection. If you prefer a phone conversation, let me know when we arrange the meeting. I will confirm the meeting details with you.

Please do not upload tax returns, account statements, account numbers, passwords or other sensitive information through the general website request form or ordinary email. We will discuss an appropriate way to share information if it is needed.
